Privacy policy
Last updated 4 October 2026
This policy explains what personal information The Overlay Network collects through this website, why, and what your rights are. We keep it short because we collect very little.
Who we are
The Overlay Network is run by Lucas Abusin in the United Kingdom. For anything in this policy, email hello@theoverlaynetwork.com.
What we collect
If you send an enquiry through this site, we receive what you type into the form: your name, email address, which option best describes you, your main platform, your audience size, an optional link to your community, and an optional message.
If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you write. Our hosting provider also keeps standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
This site does not use analytics or advertising cookies.
Why we use it
To reply to your enquiry, discuss whether a licence makes sense for you, and — if you become a partner — to set up and run the arrangement. The legal basis is taking steps at your request before entering into a contract, and our legitimate interest in running the business and keeping the site secure.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for marketing you have not asked for.
Who else sees it
Enquiries are delivered to us by an email delivery service, and the site is hosted by a hosting provider. Both act on our instructions and only to provide those services. Some providers process data outside the UK; where they do, appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) apply.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not lead to a partnership are deleted within 12 months. If you become a partner, we keep what we need for the duration of the agreement and for as long afterwards as the law requires us to keep business records.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, object to or restrict how we use it, and ask for a copy in a portable format. Email us and we will respond within one month. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated. Significant changes will be noted here.
